Hello! My name is Alicia Blanco-Bayo. Welcome to my website.
I am an independent Early Years consultant, lecturer, researcher and writer. I have been a Head of Primary, Curriculum Leader, Parental advisor and Infant and Junior teacher in the UK, Spain and the UAE. I am involved in the world of research with a focus on human connections and interactions and how these have an impact on socio-emotional development.
I have been a speaker at the Education Show on several occasions and have developed training sessions for Optimus Education. My research paper Learning to Talk, Talking to Learn was presented at the IAFOR Conference in July 2017 and published soon after.
I support organisations such as Nepal ECE and Bethel Baptist Academy in India by delivering training sessions and coaching to Early Years Practitioners and Primary teachers.
I am currently working on the analysis of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile 2018 Handbook with a focus on children’s socio-emotional development when setting curriculum expectations. This work is being undertaken as part of my PhD at Lancaster University whilst I continue to offer online guidance to professionals nationally and internationally.
I believe human connections are essential in life and highlight this in many of my publications. My family play a very important part in the type of work I do and this is certainly reflected throughout my training and coaching sessions.
Alicia Blanco-Bayo is truly passionate about education and is striving for changes to improve the early years system. Working with Alicia was extremely rewarding and Inspiring, she is a loving professional that truly has the children’s best interests in first place.
Put it this way… very soon after I encountered Alicia and her work I asked her to contribute to my early years textbook. Her heart is warm and her experience extensive; this includes international opportunities.

Alicia Blanco-Bayo is the most talented Early Years Specialist I know. She has excelled in helping many children through the foundation years including my own and keeps providing expert knowledge to colleagues & families. There is no end to her talent, support and professionalism. The dedication and enthusiasm she has within this sector is outstanding and has been recognised by many authorities in the UK and internationally. Would highly recommend.
Alicia’s enthusiasm and dedication to early years is truly infectious. Her positive outlook on life and ability to connect with others makes her one of the most inspiring professionals I have had the privilege of working with.

We both had the pleasure of working with Alicia for a few years while she worked in our school, first as a Nursery teacher and then as our Primary Head. As a Nursery teacher her patience and energy with the children were an example for all. As our Primary Head we learnt a lot from her as she motivated and guided us in a well organised manner.
