“Sacks of emotions” in Romania

Connecting with Early Years practitioners in Bucharest was fascinating. I worked with a group of practitioners eager to use observations to identify emotional needs.

I used “the sack of emotions” to reflect on the type of interactions we have with young children and how we can use them to support emotional development.

  • Experiences make us who we are and it is crucial to keep that in mind when we work with children.
  • To be able to guide children we need to observe them so that we can unpack the message beneath the emotional responses.
